Anger

The Osprey nests where I am stationed right now are very close together along a stretch of road close to the James River, in Virginia. There are 5 nests within a 1/2 mile stretch. This makes for alot of confrontations, and I think that they just mess with each other on purpose! I will see one fly from its perch, straight at another Osprey's nest, and then "ITS ON"! Quite impressive to watch!

Great pose..the screaming facial expression sets the overall mood so nicely. MIght be my monitor but I could see it a bit brighter and with a slight contrast boost.

Really like the pose, especially with the wingspread. Too bad its mouth wasn't open further. Way to go!

Cool shot, Mike. The bird definitely conveys anger. Nice job on the technical aspects. Looks like duty has one benefit this time. :toast:

A fine capture of the intensity these guys bring to defending their territories. I've seen similar behavior along Cascade Lake in central Idaho; things calm down when the ladies are on eggs.
