Shorebird + Reflection

I shot this early this morning on the beach in Gulfport. I personally think that this is among my best efforts on shore birds thus far. Must say that I don't know for certain the species, but it looked like a least sandpiper. I could maybe crop off some of the RHS, but liked the shadow so I left it full frame. Larger image provded.

I think that the composition looks great as posted, Bill. That "foggy mirror" reflection is so attractive too. :toast:

Bill, the reflection in this is superb! I agree with you and think this is my favorite of your shorebirds so far. I like everything aboout this one. I am not the best at ID'ing shorebirds either, but I think it might be a Baird's Sandpiper. Someone else might need to confirm though.

That;'s pretty cool how you were able to get the conditions to get such a clear reflection. I'd be very happy with this. Can't help you with the type of peep, I'm still learning :toast:

This is sweet Bill. Love the light and the reflections. Colors are great too. Maybe just a bit off the back and add that to the front. Other than that, this is awesome.

Nice pose and excellent reflection Bill - both of the bird and of the clouds. I like this image very much.

This is definitely my favorite of your recent shorebird images, Bill. The reflection is fantastic. I'm not positive, but I think this is a sanderling.

Hi Bill,
I agree it's a very nice image of this species with excellent lighting. I like the raised leg and intent gaze of the bird.

Bill, for whatever reason, your photos don't load properly for me. I don't have this problem with anyone else's images.....

Bill,

I am chiming in with others and saying I think this is your best shorebird post yet. I love the reflection, the pose of the bird and I especially like the raised foot & the clouds reflected in the water.

If I had to guess on the ID I would say Least Sandpiper, but I've been wrong on these little peeps before.
