Around The Bend

Hello every one, I’m back! (I may not have been missed; I wasn’t around that long to start with) I had to set my camera down and focus on remodeling and moving for awhile. Now that it’s all over, hopefully I can spend more time doing what I love. Walking and capturing images in nature along with sharing and learning with fellow NPN members.
I am currently struggling to get my eyes, mind and camera working together again. So I am going to start where I left off.
This is a spot on the Poudre River that I revisit from time to time. It’s the last image I took last year.

I think this is an interesting composition Michael. Particularly the tree offers a lot of interest for me. I just think that the fg is a bit too empty and "consumes" too much of the composition. Nevertheless I think this is very appealing.

I really like the flow to this, it really leads the viewer into the picture. Sweet!

I was thinking the same thing as Dietrich before I read his comment. It might be stronger if you eliminate the bottom with a 4 x 5 crop. I do like the low angle you have here though. It's an interesting comp and holds my attention throughout.

I really like the comp, Michael, bout could see cropping some of the foreground water about in line with the bottom of the rocks. The colors, shapes and textures the riverbank and tree roots are very nice.

Hi Michael - That tree is wonderful. As Dietrich said, I would crop some off the foreground. The green ridge on the right is a fabulous lead in.

I see what your were going for, but the comp does not totally work for me. Either crop some of the foreground or see more of the tree at the top. You have a much more impressive shot of this location on your website.
