Sun set over Lake Durant in Hamilton county (Adirondacks), NY. Black flies were murder, but worth being knocked down a few notches on the food chain.

Nikon D5000, f/16, 1/60, ISO 200, Nikkor zoom @ 28 mm, tripod.

Comments appreciated.

Greg, this is a very nice composition and I really like the water in the foreground. You'll want to work on fixing the halo which is especially prominent on the tree on the left.

Nice mood with blue and warm combo. Yes, the halo is distracting. I dont mind the dark shadow here, but I wish that the tree was a bit more to the center and its reflection would have served a nice FG lead.

Greg,

I really like the ripples and the almost metallic look on the surface of the water; crisp front to back. Aside from the noted haloing, the only other minor suggestion I have is the slanted horizon, at least the perceived horizon of the far lake shore.

The color gradient in the sky is beautiful.

A very pretty scene, Greg. I like the sky and the water looks beautiful. I agree about the halo and needing what looks like a little c/w tilt. I enjoy looking at this. Nice work. I know what you mean about the black flies. Last summer I even had them between the nd filter and the lens while shooting on Lake Superior.

Nice shot Greg. I like the serenity conveyed here and the nice balance of warm and cool tones. Often centered comps are a tough sell, I think they work well on scenes like this one. Well done. :toast:

Nice one here. The warm glow contrasted with the cool blues make it for me.
