Black Headed Grosbeak

I ran across several pair of Black-headed Grosbeaks this morning at the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge. This pose doesn't show the black wings with white markings but was chosen for the warm orange and yellow tones on the breast.

Larger image available, thanks for stopping!

A fine image as posted. Excellent detail in the larger version.

Hello Craig. I really like the bird, although the comp seems a bit tight. The amount of detail is great, though! I don't like the white frame. I find that very distracting.

Love this image Craig. Excellent technicals but I also feel like I'm looking at a boxer and it's that feeling from the image that really appeals to me. Makes me think he's getting ready to pull apart the ropes and step into the ring.

A very nice capture Craig. Detail is excellent, I like the head turn and the setting. I'd likely have been a bit looser on the crop if it were mine.

Craig,

The light, pose, details and eye contact are very appealing to me. The only suggestion I have is a slightly looser crop if you have it.
