Another from Costa Rica.

This is a White Throated Mountain Gem on a Yellow Heliconia. This is a common perch to find hummingbirds on. A few bees were also hovering around and you can see a couple on the flower.

Larger image included for the details.

Techs:
Canon 5D
ISO 800
500mm f/4
1/320 @ f/8 +1/3 EV
580 Flash at -1 2/3

Noise Reduction applied to the background.

Thanks in advance for your comments and critique.

Wonderful nature photo showing insects, plants and a bird in harmony. I like the way the plant is rather large in relation to the hummer. The Heliconia has very nice form and color and stands in stark contrast to the bird. Beautiful color palette.

Sweet image all around and the bees add a sense of scale to the hummer.

Excellent photo on a great perch and the bees add quite a bit in my opinion. I'm headed to Central America in a month and your photos are getting me that much more excited!
