Wild Geranium

The wind finally settled for a bit so I was able to get out and photograph some wild flowers. These are abundant right now and I hope to be able to go out and capture some more images and play with some different compositions. I cropped this one square to get rid of wasted space on the left of the image, but I wanted to capture the shadow of the stamens in the late evening light.

Canon 7D, Manual exposure with tripod, Canon 100mm macro, 1/80sec, F/2.8, 100 ISO, RAW conversion.

Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

John, The soft evening light has worked in your favour by producing soft shadows. Like the details in the petals and the choice of DOF which covers all the stamens.

John:
Yes the shadow looks good. Would like to have a bit more DOF perhaps.

John: I really like the play of light and shadow here and the square crop works really well. :toast: >=))>
