Cool! The deer kill looks frozen solid... Welcome to NPN!
BTW, because of the man made road, this may have been more fitting in the Man and Nature gallery, but then I may not have seen it.
Great capture, Paul!

What an unusual encounter! Yes there is no question that this is not far in the backcountry, but this came out well (although the small posting size makes it hard to be sure.) I believe it is perfectly appropriate for this gallery. The fauna guidelines are not the same as"earth, sea & sky" where any sign of the hand of man relegates an image to "man & nature." Fauna gallery is for: "Wildlife other than birds. Images of captive animals must be stated as such. Images that include domesticated animals should be posted in the Man & Nature Gallery." Clearly this gray wolf is not domestic!
Paul, we look forward to more of your postings in this gallery! I would also like to remind you that part of what makes this such a successful site is the feedback of others, making us better photographers. NPN suggests that a good ratio to strive for is 5 comments for each time one posts. I know when new that can seem intimidating, but a simple reaction is often appreciated. You can start with saying what you like and perhaps add what you might try differently! Welcome to NPN and I am hoping to hear what YOU see in the images of others!
