This is a small creek running through Isla Popa, near Bocas Del Toro, Panama. We crossed a few small creeks on a hike, that were full, and brown, and actually very calm after the previous 5 days of rain. I like the way the lush foliage crowded in on the creek and the curve into the dimmer area ahead.

Thanks for looking...

Very impressive for HH @ 1/10 of a second. The composition is great with the river flowing out of the lower left side of the frame and it screams central america/rainforest. I think the 2 fallen trees across the creek in the upper portion of the photo add quite a bit as well

Truth be told, Luke, this was lucky as I would probably have bumped the ISO had I realized my shutter speed was so slow. I'm thinking the IS may have saved this one, although I have a couple of similar shots from other places that are blurrier than I would have liked. I didn't check too carefully as we were trying to keep the mosquito's at bay and didn't stop much.

The lushness here is quite remarkable. There is also a very strong sense of being here to see this pictures. So many images now are so worked to make the hyper-perfect image that they almost lose their reality. This looks good and is very real as well.

This does look very real (as Tony said) I like the fact that you actually feel like you could be there seeing this. The color looks perfect.

We don't get a lot of jungle images; this is great. I agree with Tony (I'm guilty of hyper-perfection myself), this has a real look to it.

I like your comp with the lush foliage crowded in on the creek and the reflections in the creek. Very natural looking scene. Well done

Hi David, I like this shot. The composition is very nice and the mood is very strong for me. Only one thing I can see here that I would maybe try the polariser here to help the greens a little bit and the muddy creek as well but just subjective view. Even don't know if it is possible with your Zuiko lens. But it would include a stopping for some time and the tripod as well so who knows :-). But pretty solid hand with that hand-held anyway ! Kind Regards.

David,

A little behind the times with my commenting, but I couldn't resist mentioning that my first reaction to this was "African Queen." If you've seen the old Bogart/Hepburn classic, maybe it will ring true for you. Definitely get the sense of a jungle with this capture and nice job being able to capture this hand held.
