The Cascades

I never tire of the year round sight and sound of running water here in the North Cascades. I grew tired of waiting for the rain to stop yesterday and happened upon one of the tens of thousands of examples of why this area is called "The Cascades". The image was taken in the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie NF at midday in a steady drizzle.

Nice scene here Tim - I like the soft water exposure here and the angle the downed trees and falls run through the image. But the composition seems to lack some kind of focus - like I want to look past the edges to see what else is there a little. Still very nice.

But while I like this, it doesn't have the crispness or clean detail that I'd expect. It looks a little smeared or something - maybe diffraction softening from f/25? Or compression from web posting?

I agree w/ David, beautiful scene, but something is wrong. And the caps in the name don't help!!! :frown:

Composition is OK but exposure looks a little bright. Some work on sharpness too, not sure whether this is an in-camera issue or web sizing problem.

Hi Timothy :wavey: I love the scene and the composition. But agree with the others about the lack of sharpness.

Beautiful compt and colors. Sometimes the best photos are taken in the rail.
