Great and colorful sky; the elongated whole in the clouds gives the impression of a portal for me. Nice contribution to the anniversary gallery.

A wonderful example of a grand landscape from terrain that is too seldom thought of as exciting. The backlit rolling hills and the placement of the pond in this view contribute as much as that amazing sky. A masterful composition.

Gorgeous image Wayne! Am I seeing ice on that pond in the larger version? The colors are so warm and beautiful it's deceiving.

Great eye Bill, the pond is indeed ice covered. Its frozen surface was picking up just the faintest reflected color from the sky, and element I liked. I've seen some amazingly colorful sunsets in the midwest but this one ranks right up there for colorful skies at sunrise.

I appreciate the comments everyone and look forward to seeing all of your beautiful work for many years to come. :wavey:
