Wow where do I start. I guess I'll begin with a huge thanks to everyone here from the editors, moderators and all the members. I hopped on board early 2009 and since have enjoyed every post and learning experience thus far. I couldn't find a nicer more friendly community of photographers. A real family oriented community and I feel honored to be a part of such a high caliber and talented photographers. The growth and knowledge I have learned as well as the upfront and honest critiques have made me grow and stretch my abilities. I don't think I would have found my style and passion if it wasn't for NPN. This year I do plan on taking my passions to another level so for that I am excited.
I could go on and on but a little over a years involvement has made me appreciate being a member. Thanks everyone
One of my personal favorites last year. This deepened my passion for the intimate side of nature. A huge majority of photography is exploring and being able to see images beyond your scope of vision. This such scene inspired me to pursue such avenues. A rather simple composition but I love stories that nature can tell.

I remember this one well and it's a fitting contribution. Hard to believe it's already been a year - seems like you've been around much longer.
The "scriptures" are almost readable.... I wonder what they say?

The light on this log, your composition with the leaf, and your excellent processing makes the "scriptures" here look profound. I have photographed many examples of beetle engraving (as a former forest entomologist), but never produced an image with this kind of depth and impact. Best wishes in your mission to illuminate the stories of Nature.
IMHO it is a pictorial image. The taste of the composition and the use of B&W make this a unique shot.
