Surf, splash, and whirl

Cinque Terre, famous worldwide for their five enchanted medieval villages with small fishermen ports, narrow cobblestone lanes and romantic trails, are also a great place for some serious seascape.
And the rocky coast beneath the small port of Manarola - probably the most pictoresque of the five villages - is simply a gold mine of photographic opportunities. I took this picture on a very cold evening of January 2008, at the end of a rainy and windy day. The heavy sea was just calming down, but it was still heavy enough to produce some beautiful crashing waves and whirls on the reefs.

Thanks in advance for any comment on this one.
Paolo

PS larger looks much better

From the smoothness of the left side to the splash on the right, I really enjoy that foreground. Excellent work, Paolo.
