This is what happens when you shoot side by side with Kwan. Go figure. This bird was a bit tough, but we were able to finally outsmart one even though I think we both feel a little older today now that the week is over. :wavey:

D700
500mm vr
1.4x tc
1/2000
f6.3
iso 640
No flash
cloned the same little piece of stick that Kwan did

Terrific! Amazing consistency of exposure and look across two photographers and brands.

As soon as I saw this thumbnail I thought it was yours... not sure why I didn't think it was Kwan's

I like the annoyed look you are getting from this species

An interesting comparison, Charlie. I think Kwan had a better bg, but you got a slightly better catch light. They're both sweet. :toast:

nice job, guys! I like the slightly more vibrant green in this one. I went after these today but no luck.

Deja vu, or is it an interesting stereo effect you two are providing for us. Both excellent images

Fascinating comparison Charlie - apart from ther slightly different backgrounds, it's interesting to see the subtle differences in the shades of green , grey etc from the two bodies.

cheers

Charlie, you both caught some great shots. Neat to see the same shot. I see a lot of people talking about one having more light or different shades of green. Wondering how much of that is also in your diferences in processing. Would be neat to see the unprocessed file for each.

For a second I thought we'd had a gallery-fart, seeing two identical-looking photos next to each other like that!

Wonderfully presented image Charlie. Great light and BG. :toast:

Great shot Charlie. It must have been fun. This species isn't so easy and you both got a good shot. I find it interesting that you used no flash and he used fill yet the shots are very comparable. I would say yours is better (course I will say that to Kwan too  )

I think, at least on my monitor, this image has less noise and has more detail.

I will make the identical post on both photos as that seems fair.

First, thanks for doing this, it's really cool that you did. I know we are not supposed to ever ask for the larger version but I must admit that in this case I wish you would have both posted one so we could compare the two different sets of equipment. Truly they both look great! What fun. :toast:
