The 'island in the sky' is wonderful, but i'm not sold on the foreground. It keeps dragging my eye away from my favorite part of the image, the top 2/3. Would be interested in comparing this with a comp where the misty conditions are isolated.

I like this misting felling. The foreground trees are necessary to provide an island effect of this image.

Can't beat that atmosphere. Elliot has a valid point, but I like this composition. The brightness and vibrancy of the FG makes it seem like it's whoring for attention, while the background is all about subtle beauty, which together creates an interesting juxtaposition.

I agree with Elliot. This is tough, since ideally the pure island (w/o the bright fg) would be enough, but i can understand the urge to add some 'pop' to the scene. Maybe more fg would have helped--all i know is that as is, it feels unbalanced. But i love the 'island'

Wonderful. I love the "freshness" of the image.
