Sora

Same morning as Charlie's SCOR, I took my camera off the tripod and braced the lens on the padded tripod leg and hand-held, lying on the desert stream bank. I found this method quite good. The Sora is eating a tadpole. Needless to say, we had one of the best days ever birding together!

1D MkIV, 500mm, 1/1000 @ f8, ISO400, no flash, morning light, full-frame except for some minor rotation, laptop processed.

Thanks for looking; C & C please.

The low angle on this is spectacular Kwan! I really like the catch...it is an added bonus. However, I take issue with you and Chaarlie shooting together. I frankly think it is unfair to the rest of us and you two should be made to photograph seperately (I am joking of course)

Fabulous! I have never seen a Sora. Great timing on your part to get the tadpole.

I wonder if you could bring out the eye just a bit more but since I have never seen one perhaps that would misrepresent them?

I call this kind of shooting "Mia, Rambo style" . Lying on your belly in the rocks, bugs, and cactus. This is the payoff. Excellent work, Kwan. You gotta be quick with these guys! :toast:

Thanks for the chuckle. I have to admit the Mia version sounds more appealing.

Wow, this is a really incredible photo. The only nit is the desire for a little more DOF, but that's pretty minor

A great shot KC. Love the low angle, light, and the tadpole. Overall comp is nice with all the habitat included. Just enough light on the eye to make this work for me. Nicely done.

Great job, KC. the low angle really adds to this photo. A sora in the open is a nice catch, and the tadpole really adds a lot of interest. What a great day you had.

Awesome "behind the scenes " capture. I love the candidness of it, the colors and your dof. Very nice

Great photo, an insight to a bird seldom seen, at least by me. Thanks for posting.

Great (clean) shot of which has been a very illusive bird for me. :toast:
