This was taken on a Texas ranch. The Blackbuck does not like people getting close and this one was in full flite before I could get my camera set up.

Thanks for looking at my picture and for any comments.

Hi Jack,

Good timing on this exposure (and, a good job on the exposure - it would have been really easy to blow out the highlights in the whiter, lower portions of the blackbuck). I like your placement of the subject in the frame and there's no doubt it's running. I think the speed and running aspect of the subject would be even stronger if its legs were more outstretched (as opposed to all bunched together under the body), but I fully realize that capturing the legs of a running animal in just the right position is always a matter of simply luck (or a VERY fast frame rate, which at least increases the chances of getting a more full array of leg positions).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Excellent action shot Jack; this really conveys the sense of speed, despite that you froze the action with a high SS. Good job on the exposure indeed!. As for the leg pose; I find that both a streched out leg pose and the pose you have captured can work; you could even present it in a sequence with different leg positions (that is if you managed to get several consecutive frames). :toast:
