Mallard Missile

Was walking up to this little pond/marshy area when the mallard took off. Got the D-60 w/ 200mm up in time to snap a couple of shots. I know this isn't super crisp, and my avian efforts probably won't be 'til new equipment is purchased, but I really liked the orientation of the mallard as it was heading away, with the trees behind it. Plus the water droplets just behind. Cropped it down to add a more "speedy" look to it. Thanks for looking and any comments, larger image posted.

Bill,
this shot really gives the idea of speed.

I do like the overall impression on the larger version. Does give that impression of motion.

Thanks, I know it's rather another atypical Avian gallery image, but the speed look really made it for me. Now to work on the fine details!!
