This is my first attempt at a Blackbird from a couple days ago. I'm not sure it's worthhy but I will have another chance later this week and thought I might as well get some tips now to arm myself. This was taken hand-held out the car window with the 50D and Sigma 150-500 with OS on at about 400mm. It had some blue fringing which I dealt with in CS3 and I cloned out a couple of branches. Thanks for looking.

Looks good to me, Clayton. Might sharpen a tad around the head, but its hardly noticeable.

Love the perch and pose. Also see a bit of a sharpening halo, but easily taken care of.

super perch, nice catchlight and pose, good detail in the blacks. I agree, maybe a bit more sharpening on the head. I think I see a bit of the halo mentioned--maybe a shadow/highlight halo (too large a radius used/not selectively applied?) as opposed to a sharpening one?

NICE! I've been photographing these guys a lot here in So Cal and they always seem ready to sing!

I like the way you have held on to the details in the blacks. Nice pose. Thanks for sharing.
