Winter Waxwing

Gallery: 10 Years of NPNPosted April 11, 2010196 views6 comments

I posted this a few months ago. Although a common bird, this is one of my favorite bird shots that I've taken.

Great to be on a site with so many fantastic photographers!

Perhaps the type of bird is common, but it's none the less photogenic. When you throw in the incredible perch, the behavior, and the complementary background colors; the result is fantastic.

I wish we had these great birds in my area, I just might turn to avian photography. This is a stellar shot imo, with great light, color, and behavior.

I've still not gotten a great shot of a waxwing but am still after it. I'd be super happy with this one. Really nice

Certainly a beauty Raymond, and one to be proud of. I agree with Kent that the BG really adds a l ot to this too.

Beautiful avian image. Waxwings are one of my favorite birds, and you've captured this beautifully. The overall color scheme is really nice.

Not a common bird for me. I thoroughly enjoy seeing your picture of this waxwing.
