Whether your involvement here at NPN is about learning or sharing, it always feels good to have your work recognized, to have others respond positively to the photographs you create. This image is a horizontal variation of a photo that has always meant a lot to me because it was the first of mine to be called a "moderator's pick". Feedback is meaningful on this site because it doesn't come from an unknown show judge or a random web commenter. It comes from people you respect because they've let you get to know them as best you can in this virtual community.

NPN, keep up the good work!

I agree with you completely. This is a great site in many ways. Really neat shot. Good job. It looks like the top and bottom are two completely different photographs! :toast:

Very well put, Kent. I really like the diagonal comp here as well as the monotone color and the contrast in textures.

One of my favorites of yours Kent, glad to have a chance to view it once again. This has a wonderful compositional flow to it.

I remember this series of shots well. I thought they were great then, and nothing has changed my mind since then. The light in this is stunning. I also agree with you concerning your thoughts on NPN.

Kent,

I have always loved all of your ice cave images and will continue to ask when your book is coming out.

Absolutely agree about meaningful the feedback is on NPN.

While I find the color cast odd, but not objectionable, I love the creamy balloony marshmallow texture of the ice, mirrored in the stones softened by the diaphanous water. Luscious.

I love these ice cave scenes. It looks like a strange other world even though I've been in places like this myself (unfortunately before I took up photography). An exceptional photo under very difficult conditions. Great choice for this gallery also. :toast:

I have enjoyed your light here for a long time, Kent. Your post-processing is every bit the equal of your excellent eye for composition.
