Poteet, Texas
Put 620 miles on the car yesterday exploring the area south of San Antonio and then up into the Hill Country. After a lousy 2008 and 2009 the wildflower bloom this year is really looking good. Around Poteet there was great variety while further north and west the bluebonnets begin to dominate. So far the season is off to a really good start. My only complaint was a mild but persistent breeze that put some motion blur in some of the coreopsis and paintbrush in the MG. Could have used a slightly higher ISO but my camera likes 200 the best so I just put up with it. All comments welcome.>=))>

Very nice Bill. Interesting to see the cactus (prickly pear?) interspersed with the wild flowers. And I like how there are loosely defined layers here with the paintbrush in the middle. I do think it looks a bit soft overall, even accounting for the wind effects.

Nice rainbow of color. Glad to see Texas is having a good bloom.
Wow, 640 miles, and you still found time to snap a few pictures!

I was there once in early April and will never forget it. This is a beautiful reminder. I hope you have a great year.

Gorgeous!! The cactus - totally unexpected to my eyes - adds tons of interest to an already marvelous scene.

Very nice, I am envious, after putting up with the rain there this winter that produced these beauties, I had to leave for home 3 weeks ago, and it looks like I am missing something special. Especially like the vertical comp with the prickly pear.

Beautiful, Bill! You have the primary colors plus a nice anchor point with
the cactus. I haven't been to Texas since the mid 90's, but this motivates
me to return. I could look at this everyday. Well done, Bill.

I was thinking that must be Texas. The cactus kind of confirmed it for me. Very nice pallette of colors in this one.

Good stuff Bill, I was hoping to see some shots for your area. I'm hearing the wildflower season may be a very good one. Take care, have fun and keep them coming.

I don't know how I missed this one. Wow! I absolutely love all the vibrant colors you captured. The cactus is a nice element in the scene as well. The slight motion blur really doesn't bother me. We're used to the wind here in Kansas
