This line of trees is still flooded out and creates interesting patterns with good light. Something a bit different, shot w/ a D-60 at ISO-100, f-4.5, 1/500th at 70mm from above on a bridge. Processed to B&W and cropped to a more pano comp. Thanks for looking and any C&C, larger image posted as well!

I love this, Bill! So much to look at. One nit; it appears to be rotated a little CCW.

Nice job here Bill! I like the abstract feel yet still knowing what I'm looking at. I think your processing decisions paid off.

Bill... this is neat. I really like the patterns. I find the discrete trunks and branches the most appealing and the right side is a bit too cluttered. What about cropping some of the right, going to a more traditional size, like 3:2?

Thanks folks!! Looking for the CCW rotation, hmmm, not sure if it's that, or the two trees on the left making it look that way?? Either way, appreciate the keen eyes!

I can see that crop working Reed. The trees on the far right are closer, so the top branches and the trunks below do make it a bit cluttered. Thanks!!

Good one, Bill. Very graphic. I like how you raised the horizontal center line a little higher in the frame. Definitely makes the image more dynamic compared to it being right in the center.

This is excellent Bill. Love the graphic design of those trees and the reflection. Your composition and use of b/w processing are superbly done. Outstanding image and outstanding work.

I like this one a lot Bill. I think the dark band at the top serves well as a boundary and to differentiate the top and bottom "versions" of the scene. Nicely done, and nice conversion.

Thank you all for the comments--here I was leary of posting a B&W in ES&S. I'm glad you all appreciate it and the comp/processing.

And I still want to say I can't see the CCW lean, but I do tend to slump left when I drive too!! So it probably is a bit off. :toast:

Really strong image, Bill. I love the deep contrast created by the lines of the trees and their reflections against the very bright bg. Excellent!

This is very nice! There is great balance to it. It's a bit difficult to distinguish from the actual trees, and thier reflections. That's a neat thing.

Bill,

Just wanted to drop a note and say that I think this is the finest image you've posted here on NPN (at least that I can remember. The b&w approach really simplifies and actually accentuates the symmetry. I really like the contrast here. Excellent work.

Thank you Lon!! I've been shooting a lot lately--in fact, need a break. I truly respect your opin, as well as many others here... and Morris as well.

It's kind of embarrassing when I see all of your post/comment ratios then look at mine!!! :frown:

Cool Steve and Ian.

This post has been very helpful to me. I'm very insecure what I put on here, though I put too much. The quality of the replies and the repliers are just great, and inspiring. :toast:
