Pristine Paintbrush

Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 200, 1/500 @ f4

Made my first wildflower hunting trip this morning and almost overdosed. It is still really early but the flowers that are up are in spectacular condition and I had great light all day. Found this little beauty at Washington on the Brazos State Park. I have a tough time deciding if I like paintbrush or bluebonnets more. Today I saw lots of vivid paintbrush in small bunches among the bonnets. Lots more to come! >=))>

Beautiful image - I like the color contrast between the foreground and the out-of-focus flowers in the background, and the delicate yet extremely sharp details of the flower in the foreground... Excellent ! A true promise of spring...

You did get out Bill. That's great. Incredible bokeh, Bill.

Lovely, Bill. Great control of DOF. I like the colors in this.
Also a good job of placing the main subject a little off center.

Thanks Bill for the lovely photo. I didn't realize it was time yet for me to take a little drive out of Houston.

Great DOF here Bill, and I love the mixture of color in this image. I almost went to TX for the wildflower bloom this year, but CA was cheaper. Some day.

Can't add much to the earlier comments, but it's great to get out n the field and find them in the natural settings.

This is just lovely, Bill. I like the mixture of colors, and the way the shorter paintbrush "frames" the bonnet in the BG. Send some of that spring color up my way, will ya
