Fallow Deer

This was taken on a Texas Ranch. Fallow deer were once in Africa and Asia, and can be found now in Europe, England, and New Zealand as well as some parts of South America and the United States. This deer is a chocolate Fallow, but they also can be white or spotted[light tan with white spots.]

Thanks for looking at my picture and for any comments.

Nice photo of a fallow deer, but IMHO it is too light. I would suggest that you darken it just a tad. I also find the position of the antlers bothersome. I would like to have seen both sides in the same light, of course that is not always possible. The palmatted antlers are unique to this size deer and need to be shown at the best, if at all possible. If the image will handle it I would suggest tightening up the image, by cropping from both the left and right sides. Thanks for posting.

Excellent pose and detail. I agree about toning down the brightness. Try adjusting the middle and left sliders in levels a bit.

This is a great specimen Jack. I agree on toning the brightness down a bit. The scene is a bit cluttered, but you nailed the focus. These are occasions where very fast lenses would be able to create more separation between the subject and the BG. I had no idea fallow deer used to occur in Africa; thanks for the interesting fact.

Nice shot of this deer. those are very impressive antlers. Maybe it could stand to be a tad darker. The scene is a little cluttered but there's nothing you could do about it.

I like the way you cropped this Jack. I also like the way the deer is in the light with the shadows of the trees in the background. Impressive antlers, looks some what like a Caribou. I do wish that the large stump wasn't obscuring his hind end. The dark piece of wood is also a bit prominent, perhaps lightening it would reduce its impact and soften its angular (manmade?) appearance.
