Another of the characters I found on my visit to Guana River WMA last week. This guy kept me amused for quite some time as he would reach way down into the cavity to get his meal, flashing his backside in the process.

Taken late afternoon but the light was still a tad harsh. I tried to control the BG as best I could and still get good DOF, not certain I succeeded.

Thanks for looking.

Nice job, Chuck. The exposure looks fine and the dof works for me. It might have been nice to get the sky out of the bg, but it doesn't look to me like you'd be able to get a decent angle on the bird if you moved to the left very much. :toast:

Looks like you got the best result possible under the circumstances you described. The exposure is about perfect and nice sharp details to boot.

Nice exposure in a tough spot. The large patches of blue sky do distract me from the bird a bit and it would have been great to get a bit of a head turn toward the camera to achieve better eye contact as I think that would have strengthen this image. The perch tree is nice as it adds some nice texture to the image.

Ohh! my favorite bird! What a lovely pose. I think you did very well with the situation. I'd love to have a picture like this. Nice job Charles.
