I came across this bird on the Shetland Islands, I like the image as it shows the bird in its breeding habitat,, the uplands with cotton grass in the background with the grasses and summer flowers in the foreground. I think id gives the feel of a British summer

It's a lovely setting for the curlew Ron, even though the background flowers are kind of bright. I like the cock of the head and that you didn't try to level the apparent foreground hill slope. Your composition works well for me though I do wish for more light in the eye.

I really like the setting but do wish for more of a headturn and some light in that eye. It appears oversharpened on my monitor. I do love the cotton balls and the specks of yellow and purple in this. What a wonderful hillside. Sharon

Lovely composition, Ron. A little light in the eye would have topped it off, but I like it as-is. :toast:

Ron,

The bones of this image are very nice. Reducing the contrast, saturation and sharpening some would likely produce a stronger image.
