Reflections and Ice

by Greg Maklae

The mountain streams are again starting to run in the Adirondacks, a sign of spring. I was drawn to the lines of the reflections of the surrounding trees, as well as the edge of the ice.

Nikon D40, f/11, 1/25, 18-105 Nikkor VR @ 80 mm.

Comments appreciated.

Certainly unique, I like the abstract look of the image, the white patch of snow near the upper left border is a distraction I would like to remove from the frame. But that's just me.

I could do w/o the white snow in the ULC as well. I really like the reflections, they remind me of calligraphy. I give you lots of props for originality Greg. Cool shot

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful photographs I have seen posted in this gallery in the recent months. I have been studying it for a while and it has stirred several thoughts in my mind. I really wish that we got to see more of this kind of work here....
