I loved the original of this, but I had to do a banner, and loved this even more.

Very nice Margo - very mysterious and moody looking. Wish there was a larger version.

I like the reach of the tree out over the water. The back lighting is nice as well.

The banner crops work great here. I like the soft, almost-pink light over the water. My preference would've been for a lighter mat color as the left side of the image sort of blends in.

Thanks for all your comments. When we mat and frame, I always use an off-white mat with a dark frame. Alas, we cannot do that here. We can't even do a thin pinstripe. Without the dark frame, the off-white mat seems too much. I don't know what the compromise is, but I think your comment indicates the better choice, given our parameters here, and so...
As to the comment about seeing it larger, those who know me from before know my views on piracy on the Internet, disrespect for intellectual property laws, etc. That's why I keep my images here on the small side. I have no wish to devalue my photographs to free use by those on the Internet who go trolling for images. I am obviously not referring to those who are active in these fora!

Lovely light and mood Margo. I understand your concerns about image theft, but perhaps a balance can be found by using larger watermarked images. It's just so hard to appreciate the details on something this size.
