Hello all...This is my first post, first of many I am sure. There are so many fabulous images on this site that one can only hope to benefit and become a better photographer over time.

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

I live the juxtaposition of the glowing waters and the dark mountains in the distance here Mark. The deck and lines lead me into the scene quite well, and while it is a midday shot - which folks tend not to most too many of here - that works perfectly for an image like this. The post in the lower left corner is somewhat distracting, and I would have preferred something more interesting in the sky besides the hazy overcast cloud cover (not under your control of course).

I agree with Floris' comment about the post being a bit distracting. Otherwise this is an awesome shot! :toast: :jump:

Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely keep those in mind for future shots. My next post will likely have a little more "attitude" with regards to the weather but i figured for my first post this was a good place to start

Very nice for a first post. The composition is great and the water horizon is dead-on level. I tried scrolling to see what a crop would look like just above that first post and it definitely has promise. This is a beautiful location and I can see myself on that dock taking in the view.

Yes, that post in the left front is distracting, but if you were to try to crop it out now I feel like you will lose too much of the effect of leading deck lines. Maybe if it were completely sharp it wouldn't be quite as distracting? Or maybe to can darken it to the tone of the post on right front edge.

The turquoise water very nicely holds interest in the scene.
