Here's one from last week taken at a local park during a ridiculously cold and snowy day.
At least the Waxwings had food, even if it they didn't have a microwave to defrost it .

Brrr, that is one cold looking image Nick! Very nice - great composition and the berry in the bill tops it off nicely! :toast:

Nice shot Nick. f/8 might have served you a little better for some more DOF but it's a great winterly scene.

Beautiful shot, Nick. Lovely setting and action. I like the falling snow too. I think you could sharpen the eye slightly. :toast:

This is such a great photo. I love that you caught the Waxwing with food. I like the DOF you used, and the background is nice.

Beautiful, Nick. Nice mix of cold elements and warm color. I've been looking for a perch and BG like that in Florida, without success.

This is just lovely, but I would agree with Satie regarding a little more sharpening around the eye....maybe there is a snowflake in front of it? Still a beauty and I love those frozen berries! Sharon

Nice one Nick - I can feel the cold (although I suspect I've never experienced anything approaching this). Like the frost patterns on the berry and perch in the larger version

cheers

A very nice setting for this waxwing Nick. Iove the frost, snow and the berries. Oh, and the bird is nice too. That must feel really cold going down.

Best of the best. From the frosty berries and branch, the sharpness of the waxwing, the beautiful complimentary background and especially the composition. Would sure love to have this in my portfolio! :toast: :toast:

Nick,

I love the snowy setting, the frozen berry in the bill and your choice of composition. A touch more dof would have been nice but given the conditions I probably would have stayed at f7.1 too.
