Flatirons

Thanks so much to everyone who commented on my first post of this location earlier in the week.

Since Stan is double dipping from the same location shoot, , I guess I will too. I took this a few minutes after my post from earlier in the week. The fiery color on the clouds was receeding, but the light was full on the Flatirons formations in Boulder. It's also a tighter comp.

Comments and critiques are always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

That light on the peaks is really something, and I love the sky with the half moon adding a lot of interest. I checked the previous post and I must say I like it better just because it's wider. But I'm a sucker for wide views, so I think that's just a matter of personal taste.

Great work Morris, I'm just glad you jumped off the bed that morning

I actually like this one better Morris. Composition, light on the peaks, and processing. Congrats. Michael

The light on the rocks make this other-worldly, with the moon adding to the feel. Great scene in both captures.

Very strong image, Morris. That upper glowing cloud feels like it's the light source for the rest of the image.

I like all the lines forming the comp in this Morris - the line of mountains, the tilted slab sides of the mountains, the vertical trees, and the angled clouds to everything else - very nicely put together. The moon is a really nice touch.

Very attractive image, with a wonderful hazy light and the moon that adds a plus to the scene. Nice view of the good old Flatirons...

A real beauty, Morris, the moon definitely takes it up a notch! I wish there was more snow--not necessarily in the shot--just in general

This is beautiful, Morris. I've never photographed the Flatirons. Having
seen this the area is on my "must do" list now.

great use of the repeating lines of clouds, also the moon acts as a perfectly placed counterpoint to the mountain peak. And the color would make any llama proud!

actually I like the wider view, but the light directly on the flatirons makes this slightly better IMHO. Both are extraordinary. Its amazing how much that tiny moon adds to the image.
