Wonder in B&W

Hi guys

After a short period I'm coming back, I know this is a very known place but every time I remember the four hours photographing there I say wov what a magical place.

I converted the original color slide into black and white image to get a diferent view of the place, focus on the textures and patterns of the sandstone.

Do you like it?

Velvia film, ISO 50, Canon EOS 33v, Canon Ef 17-40 f/4L USM, Polarizer, tripod

Regards

Interesting. Its not often I see the canyons in black and white. I think the bush adds great perspective.

Very intriguing shapes and textures here. The stick is a nicely placed focal point.

Very nice! I think B&W really helps emphasize the wonderful shapes and lines of these canyons. Cropping a little off the left side might be interesting, but this more than works as presented. Good stuff!

Very nicely done, Roberto. The composition is intruiging, speciallly w.r.t. to the placement of the dark and light areas. Excellent job on handling the tonal range too.

Overall I think this is great. I like the choice of B&W processing; its a nice change of pace from the usual super-saturated images we see from these slot canyons.

One critique I have is that the left side feels like it could use some more contrast to balance better with the rest of the scene. Thats a minor complaint though.

Very nice. I like the black and white take. The bare tree is a bonus with the whites. Well done.

I do like it, Roberto. After all the color we see from here, the B&W is different. The more expansive view is nice. It really brings out the shapes and textures like you wanted.
