I would love to post a snowy waterfall but all my fav falls in Rocky are just frozen and not too inspiring. Here's my first post in the Earth, Sea & Sky gallery. The jpeg is darker and less saturated than I prefer, still perfecting the Lightroom 2 conversion.

Late in fall I experimented with the idea of waterfalls and got this.

Nikon D300, 24-85 f2.8 @ 26mm, f29, 1.6 sec, tripod, 2 3x GND filters one up one down (now I own a true 4x ND but made due in the field)

Do you feel its a bit left heavy? I tried to balance with the right rocks. I was limited due to a bush on the right coming into the frame and standing in water that wasn't over my boots :) C&C welcome.

I find my eyes going to the background predominantly. The foreground feels a bit jumbled by comparison. I like the scene and don't feel it's left heavy because off-centeredness generally creates a more dynamic image. I guess a tighter comp on the upper falls would be my preference.

I'm in the same boat as Tony - the background is what pulls my eyes, and I don't find this to be left heavy. I'm not sure that I'd prefer a tighter composition, though.

There does seem to be some fuzziness and pixelation that would suggest the jpeg compression was quite high, which I notice most when looking at the background cliffs. Perhaps some sharpening and saving this at a higher quality would help balance out the top and the bottom.
