Northern Flicker catching bugs. I noticed this flicker in my front yard and a crawled towards it. It was catching bugs in the grass. The wood in the background were a little busy. Comments welcome

Great low angle Janet and the DOF works for me. The bird looks nice and sharp and I like the head turn. The bug the bird is looking at really gives this the final touch.

Very nice, with perfect details on the subject. The BG and the grass work very well. The pose and the flying bug add a lot to this wonderful picture.

Excellent one - I have often seen them feeding on the ground like this. BG is fine!

Excellent, Janet. The Flicker is nice and crisp with an interesting pose, and your dof is great. There are some odd geometric shapes in the oof bg to the right of the bird that are a bit distracting. You might think about brushing those lightly with the clone tool to smooth them out. :toast:

I love the alert pose of the bird and the blur of the bug. Nice colors.

A pleasing image as posted. The low viewpoint works well and the bug is a very nice element in the image.
