The same bird as the previous post at a slightly different angle taking in the beach sand as the BG. About the same extreme crop.

Leica R9, Digital Modul-R
F4 280mm. Telyt - Manual Focus with Shoulder Stock
ISO 200, f4 @ 1/3000th sec.

A nice closeup of the Peregrine. Overall there appears to be a slight blue cast to the image. I'm assuming this is a good size crop? I'd like to see more room on the right and if possible more room on the bottom. Thanks for Sharing.

I agree with Keith's assessment of the color cast on this image Michael. The detail is still good IMO for such a huge crop.

I'm amazed at how good the detail is here for such an extreme crop. I would try some colour balance adjustment to remove some of the blue cast to the photo.
Really nice :toast:

Thanks folks. I think my monitor is off which would explain the color cast. Looks fine here. I have to look into calibration technique so please make recommendations if you can. I've had problems with color cast before not only posting but printing, too. Makes me crazy. :jump:

I like the portrait though I do find the composition could be shifted to the right a bit. And I agree with the suggestions you've already gotten Michael.

If your budget allows it a monitor color calibration device like the Eye One or Spyder 3 (just to name a couple that spring to mind) would be a worthwhile investment.

For color correction the nemonic Red Car BY GM is a good one to help you get started. Red <> Cyan, Blue <> Yellow, Green <> Magenta. So on this image where there's a blue cast adding a little yellow will help to neutralize it.
