The Stash

I found this cache of pinecones, probably gathered by a Red Squirrel, in Rocky Mountain National Park last Monday. It was well into the woods as Mother Nature had called and I was answering when I came upon this great arrangement. I did not add anything in the shot, but did remove one small twig laying on top that detracted. I doubt any artist could assemble this as well as the squirrel did.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Interesting to learn that a squirrel did this. Makes me think about my endevours arranging stuff to get a composition...
This has a bit too much of an yellow/orange tint for me, but except for that color issue, I find this very appealing.

I wasn't crazy about it on the thumbnail, but it looks great larger... It would probably make a great impression in a gigantic print.
Cool shot, Morris! :toast: :jump:

Very nice find, Morris. I like the arrangement. The image looks a little warm overall - I wish there were some interaction with cooler colors here.

Id keep it warm, the strength of the shot is the almost monochrome appearance IMO. Great find, Morris!

This is a nice find Morris. That squirrel does good work, as you did also. I like it as is.

That squirrel has talent. Overall the image feels a bit flat, but contrast can be quite subjective in any image.

This forum has as many comedians as photographers.

I am now sympathizing more with Ian Plant and his found bark and leaves arrangement post of his some time back. Now we all know he arranged his, right Ian? But I swear the only thing I touched was a twig on top.

It seems to be a split on the color as is or maybe too warm, and a consensus on maybe more contrast.

Thanks to all of you, your time and your comments are appreciated greatly.
