Nikon D300, Nikkor 17-55 @55mm. F/13, 1/1250, ISO 200.
I hope the shadows don't distract from the minimalism of this scene. Comments appreciated.

Nice texture of the snow, but somehow, everything else fails to raise my interest. The snow color seems to be rather boring. The tonal range is low, and the comp is too central in my opinion. The shaded bump on the left side should have more room, rather than being cut, as it appears to be a dominant element on the picture.

I like the idea of the cattails and shadow, but feel the shaded bump pulls too much and hurts the comp. The two bumps would work better if there was maybe a third on the top right but right now it is in the middle of being not simple enough or needing something else.

The shadows are actually an important part of this, I think. I could maybe see cropping some of the left side (making a vertical pano, somewhat) to give better balance to the image. My first thought was that the snow color was uninteresting, but the glitter in the foreground brings it to life for me.

I think some good points have been made but I agree with Tony that the glittering snow in the foreground is a nice element here. Thanks for sharing it.

I like the comp, and the glitter in the fg snow is nice too. The snow looks 'gray' to me, which is not very appealing, i would prefer it more white.

Nicely seen Albert, and especially like the shadows created by the rushes and the sparkle in the FG snow. Nicely composed winter scene.

I think it's an interesting and calm shot. The snow perhaps would benefit from some whitening.

I like the comp and the sparkle in the snow. I agree the snow could be whiter.

The simple shapes and shadows along with the glistening snow are all very nice.

I like the idea, and the subjuct matter a lot! I also agree that the left side needs more room. You also might try brightening it up just a little. The sparkeling ice crystals in the foreground are really nice!
