Newly emerged Variegated Meadowhawk on cool rainy day, October 5th of last year..
F/20, 1/12th, ISO 800. Canon 1D M3, Sigma 150mm with fill.
Overcast in the rain.

Well done Howard! You used fill flash wonderfully here getting enough light in the back of the DF's head to make it visible, yet the flash is not obvious. Don't you just love finding newly emerged df's!? The colors and details are also really good.

Re-born...great scene. Sharpen and details are perfect. Perhaps the angle would be better a bit lower, but it's a very nice capture.

This was shot at ponds edge, could not get any lower without going submersible :wink:
I manually focused, with the camera sitting on the rocks near water level, and used the cameras timer as well..

Nice find and capture. You got great detail throughout the entire DF, somthing I have a hard time doing. The large versions shows awesome detail.
