Well, its from the inside of an ice cave, but if it were my house, i wouldnt want any stones thrown at it. Taken late afternoon a couple weeks back from inside one of the ice caves near Rifle, CO. I just love the aquamarine colors in ice that is backlit like this.

Pretty wild stuff! My favorite part of it is the same as yours: the backlit aquamarine section. Those little globules in the LLC kind of catch my eye too.

Nice photo Stan...I drove by these last week but didn't have the snow boots needed to get over there. I guess you know where I'll be the next couple of days!
I was up there trying to get the shy Kingfisher to cooperate, but didn't succeed!
The colors on this photo are unreal!!

Great color in the ice! I wish the icicles weren't touching the frame on both top corners, but I do like the rounded ones in the bottom left.

Couldn't tell if those were stalactites or ice until I clicked in the big the version. That aqua green is a trip! NIce find.

I'm with you and everyone else loving that aquamarine colored ice. Small nits: I'd like to see just a little more of the rock at the top and there's a very small piece of ice at top right corner that I would crop or clone. Great image though - very "cool".

The colors are really nice, Stan. Overall this is a really "cool" scene, even with the distortion.

That must have been pretty neat to see in person. I think your comp looks very good here.
Well done!

Oh what a lovely icy hole, just awesome. I'm not 100% sold on the composition - in particular the darker portions on the left, but it does add depth. The ice in the cave looks warm to my eyes  I hope you found some closer up abstracts of that aquamarine stuff!

Very nice one, Stan. The comps works well and I love the look og the ice here. The warm light is a little unusual - it looks like indoor lighting. But on the other hand, that's something different for a change.

What a fascinating place! I love the combination of warm tones in the rock and green in the frozen veils. The ice stalactites/stalagmites (I'm sure I'm missing the correct scientific terms) are also very interesting.

A lovely take on these ice formations. They resemble a curtain covering the entrance to the cave. The color, as you have pointed out, is very cool.

Makes me feel cold. A fascinating place with lovely moulded ice and iceicles. The curve frame the top half of the shot really nicely.

Wild Stan! I'm with you, the aqua colors are amazing, as is the texture of the ice; it almost looks like shaved ice from a carnival!

I imagine the working conditions and options are limited in there, but I am wishing for a just a bit more space on top - the texture and coloration in the ceiling is quite interesting and I wish I could see more. No biggie though.

Another cave revisit Stan? Great idea it turned out perfect! :toast:

PS, hope your wearing safety goggles, that ice looks like it could kill.

Lovely colors Stan
The exposure is perfect
My concern might be about the top right on the edge, I would recommend cloning the white part :)

Love the colors Stan, and I really enjoy the darker, very intriguing ice-covered rocks it appears in the LLC.
