1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 25mm extension tube, 1/160s, f4, iso 400. Fill flash.

Another crestie from my most enjoyable session with Neil McIntyre last month. By the time I got this one, my hands were so numb I really had little control over the camera buttons.

Sharpness is unreal Ian! Love the raised crest and the light on the eye.

Very nice Ian - a beautiful specimen really well photographed. I'm particularly taken with the muted tones throughout the image. Wish we had these little guys here.

This is great Ian. Wonderful detail in the bird. The background and perch compliment the colors of the Tit very well.

Ian its great/ The light and details are right on as well as dof. I can relate to the frozen hands today believe it or not here in FL, but I did good.

Ian,

I like every thing about this image from the wintery setting, frost covered perch, the light, pose of the bird, details & sharpness. Great look at the eye and the raised crest.

Excellent image, fine techs & comp.

Am I envious of this image Ian. A bird high up on my wanted list I've yet to see one. In my opinion they are the most elegant of the tit family and your image shows why. Love the composition in their natural pines, the frost gives added atmosphere to the picture. Detail in the bird looks superb in the larger version. Graham

Terrific shot Ian. Love the detail and exposure here! Cusrious as to what your flash setting were? I keep playing around with fill flash and still have a lot to learn.

From memory, -2.3 compensation. I almost never go higher than -2.0. I'm really still experimenting with it.
