Mia's Little Blue

Seeing Mia's recent post compelled me to post another, taken at a different time but the same individual bird, at Fort DeSoto last February.

This post represents my appreciation for Mia's invaluable advice, not only for her patient assistance in preplanning my Florida trip, but needless to say her willingness to serve as impromptu guide for the very productive morning we spent. I really look forward to my next trek over that way sometime in March.

Looks like it's checking out its reflection. Wonderful insightful photo and I love blue hues.

I thought it WAS Mia's (and that is a real compliment!) I wonder if it needs levelled a little?

Very nice, Bill. My only suggestion would be a very slight CCW rotation.

Very nice Bill. I love the simplicity of this. Nicely composed and good detail in the heron.

Really nice Bill. Both bird and reflection are top-notch. I like how the lack of water disturbance indicates how still the heron is when hunting (at least in this case) - the concentration is amazing. I also like the sentiment of your title.

Bill,

I like thinking of the day that you, Adrian and I photographed at Fort DeSoto together and in particular about the show this little blue put on for us. I'm honored that you mentioned me in this post, deeply.

I love the still water you captured, the great reflection, pose, light and details.

A wonderful image that brings back such fond memories. Very well done Bill!

Appreciate the comments, y'all. Well, in a sense, it actually IS Mia's, since she was responsible for guidance to that location. I'm not sure how many frames Mia and Adrian shot of this bird, but I got about 65. And I may post one or two more of this, but honestly, I'm hoping that the little blues will start showing up around Bayou Sauvage (hopefully in the spring).

Thanks again, I always appreciate your feedback as it helps me to improve my work.

Bill,

I counted the frames I kept of this particular little blue, I kept 85. Which means I probably culled 15 to 20 and deleted those. They were most likely near duplicates of others I took that morning. I know Adrian has a lot of this bird too.

It wasn't my bird though, it was all of ours
