Dipper With Salmon Egg
by Ed Dubois
While trying to get some eagle shots the other day (which didn't happen), this American Dipper came by repeatedly. I got to watch it move small stones around for a while before it became obvious what it was after. Only got to see two eggs get devoured and then it couldn't seem to find any more. These little birds move really fast and constantly too. They're very entertaining.
Thanks for looking and your C&C.

11 commentsI like the food in the bill and the nice details you were able to show in the dark plumage of the dipper. The setting also works nicely with the water swirling around the bird and what appears to be a twig?
I've yet to attempt to photograph this species, but it does appear to be challenging!
WonderfuI capture!! I love these birds so active and skillful.
