I think you did a great job here Sarah. The chickadee has nice detail and is sharp. I like the neutral colored BG, making the bird stand out even more. Some may suggest that you clone out the picker in the Lower right corner, but it dosen't bother me any. Well done. Is this cropped at all? Nice close shot for 300mm.

Nice pose and exposure, and some good details in the feathers. I'd prefer some more room on the right. Not sure if the square crop really works for me.

Hey Sarah,
Cool photo! I really like the subtle background, it really emphasizes the chickadee. The feather detail on the chickadee is also great! It looks like your exposure was perfect; sometimes its hard to expose the black and white on these guys! My one nit is comp. The thorns do bother me a little, and the square comp isn't my favorite. I agree with raymond that some more room on the right would help a lot. Did you crop at all?
Thanks for sharing!

Ditto with the others here. Love everything but the comp. Sharon

Sarah,
I like every thing about the image except for the composition, I think more room on the right would be good.

Great shot. From what I've learned here, the crop might work better with less empty space on the left and a clone of the bottom branch IMO. Still a nice image with super detail

Thanks for the feedback! I did crop this one and I was thinking to myself at the time that with the rule of forward motion space I needed to do the opposite of what I did. More room on the right, less space and the left, and clone out the thorn branch, lol! Again, great feedback. Since joining this sight several months ago I seem to carry you all with me into the field as it seems I can almost hear "dont clip that tail.... watch that branch.... adjust for the blown out portion on the left.... " What a fantastic way to better my work. Cheers!
