Haven't been out to shoot this year - yet. Too busy skiing with grandkids, etc.

Found this at a local public pond near home before Christmas. Thanks for looking; I would appreciate your comments.

1D3, 300mm + 2.0X, ISO800, Tripod, Morning light.

Skiing sounds like a reasonable excuse! An all around nice shot. Good pose, water, lighting, and the centered comp works for me.

Not an easy species to get close too so you did a great job especially with the harmonious colors. Personally, I prefer the males beauty but the female should get her fair share!

P.S. you can't take pictures WHILE you ski? Come on. . .

Nice to see the hoodies are around again Kwan. And nice shot too - I particularly like the light. Was this at Ambelside?

Beautiful, KC. You did a wonderful job of making the bird pop out from a very similar colored bg. :toast:

Was this at Ambleside?

Yes, Ed. You kindly showed me similarly coloured water at Jericho a few years ago, remember?

Cheers,

KC,

I have some of the best slopes for skiing just to the east of here but I haven't been skiing yet this winter. I am too busy with birds and I can't handhold the 200-400mm VR when I am flying down the slopes:-)

Love the light, the low angle, the bird's pose and the lovely hues in this image.

Very well done.

Haven't gotten to the skiing yet and hope I can do it this winter. Have to build up a bit more strength. Another great shot Kwan. Love the color of the water.

This is excellent Kwan. Great low angle, beautiful colors, excellent head turn and light. Your comp works perfectly for me. Keep your eye out for dogs on the slopes.
