Snow-faced Finch

A very common bird at my feeders, however, I liked this shot enough to post. It was busy eating snow, probably washing down all the seeds it had eaten, then flew upon this perch. I guess this is the bird equivalent of a "milk moustache"!
Happy New Year everyone!

Wonderful shot of this Finch. The snow on the beak really adds to the image, well done.

Nice wintery feel to this one Sharon. The look back from the Finch is great as is the snow on the beak. :toast:

Sharon the colour palette here is fantastic with the reds /pinks/whites and a natural perch with good head turn :wavey:

Lovely image. The bird's colors and bg colors work well together.

I love the subtle colors with the splash of red. Nice snow on the bill too. Excellent details.

Very nice as posted, and shows that a very common and widely distributed species can make a fine image.

I really like this photo. If the oof bg were light pink/red I feel it would be stunning.

I'm very familiar with wintery avian scenes like this.. This is a particularly beautiful one! The composition is exceptional I think due to the over the shoulder pose, the nice off center positioning of both the perch and bird and the interesting perch itself. By way of improvements, I'm thinking that selectively darkening the bird and perch a little would allow those subjects to stand out a little more from the background. Love the snowy little beak!
