Hi Richard :wavey: This is a marvelous composition and perspective of remarkable Oak trees.... The flowing lines are wonderful to behold  Happy new year from a tree hugger. I planted 750 red oaks on my tree farm.

Richard,
What a great take on one of the South's iconic masterpieces. Just a fabulous POV. I might like to see a tad of dodging in the dark foreground limb. But, this is really a wonderful shot...

That's a beautiful and creepy looking tree, Richard. I don't think I'd camp under it for fear that it comes alive at night. Really cool composition with the dominant trunk in the FG. Good work.

Happy new year Richard, all the best to you in 2010. Amazing scene you found. Makes me think of a scene in "Lord Of The Rings".

Yes, that foreground limb is from the same tree in the background. This Live Oak is the oldest living thing east of the Rockies - approximately 1500 years old and the limbs reach out horizontally over 90 feet from the tree's trunk.

Nice colors, diffused light and DOF. I like the way you positioned the camera to get closeup detail while also showing the larger view of these impressive trees. Would like to see a larger version if possible.

Richard,

What a fantastic capture and presentation of this grand old oak. I think you've really nailed not only the size and scale, but the essence of this mighty tree. Excellent handling of the light and exposure as well. Wow, what a tree!

This reminds me of something from Lord of the Rings. It looks like something that could only be the product of computer graphics rather than reality. You've done a great job capturing this one.

Fantastic oak image Richard! That thing has to be at least 600 years old.
