Crowning Splendor

This is a capture from this last summer. The flower show up at Rainier was truly extraordinary, almost as impressive as the mosquito show.

The light was very good this evening, and as the summit clouds cleared, the setting sun filtered through the clouds across the ridge and cast a distinct gold cast on the water and rocks. I felt like I was in the presence of royalty.

Thank you for any comments and suggestions!

I never tire of seeing scenes like this. You have captured the grandeur of this fantastic landscape. The lighting and composition are excellent and you have captured a very tranquil mood. Excellent work. :toast:

Wow, that's a great shot, Cory. Especially the foreground looks fantastic. There might be a slight grad darkening on the top of the hills and the greens are just a tad too strong for my taste. These are really minor observations though. Love the image anyway.

Hi Cory,

This is really a wonderful shot. Top notch processing too. I also agree with Andreas about the greens being a little strong, but just awesome overall! Congrats. Michael

Hey Cory,
Fantastic light from one of my favorite places in Mt. Ranier! I may go a bit lighter/contrasty on the mountain itself but this is truly a wonderful image of Rainier!

Very pretty scene, good job in controlling the light. The mountain is a little too centered on the horizon for my tastes. I would prefer to see more of the left hillside with the trees and not as much of the right side without trees. Just preference though. Beautiful capture!

Gorgrous scene. I love the composition. Some of the colors seem a bit intense, and I'd personally prefer to see cooler tones in the water and foreground rocks, but all told a beautiful shot

Fanfreakingtastic! The clouds could have been a bit more cooperative and let the peak be shown, but otherwise this is truly amazing

The golden light on the rocks is outstanding... really beautiful. Wonderful clarity throughout the image, particularly in the fg rock. The water action is very soft and ethereal, which I really love. A magical image. Well done!
