(c) You looking at me?

Now we all know Llama's are very dangerous animals and this is my proof: see that stone cold look of a killer? I sure do! Those half closed eyes are a tell tale sign of the imminent attack of this vicous predator!

I was drawn to this Llama's beautiful blue eyes lit by the soft morning light, combined with his light fur. Of course those beautiful eyes with the pretty blond fur and long eye lashes are made to draw the unsuspecting prey towards the deadly embrace of this savage killer, so he (or she, we all know woman are much more dangerous then men! ) can strike!

:toast: You nailed the focus on this one, I love the shallow DoF. That eye is indeed unique, great light too,

You already know what I'm going to say, but I will say it anyway. First: nice shot - llama's eyes are amazing and totally different from many other large mammals. Focus is spit on, ehm, spot on. The lashes are a bit short though.

My main nit with this, is that I'd prefer to see more space to the left to give some more space for the eye itself and the lashes, and less space on the right.

I kept my spit filter on, just in case.

Thanks guys.

Marsel: I do have a horizontal version (posted above) with more room for the eye but somehow I prefer the vertical version. Curious to see what others think.

I prefer the light/color of the second one. There's something to say for both versions, but both would need a recrop imho. For the landscape version I'd crop off the oof strip from the right and a sliver from the top to get rid of the black ulc. It'll cut througha part of the eyelid, but that wouldn't bother me.

Glad you survived to post a nice photo. FYI, my experience with llamas, is that the males are much more the aggressor, having had to fend off one on several occassions. (intact, non-netuered male)

Beautiful images Jorne. That blue eye is indeed very striking. I agree with Marsel that the light and coloration of the second post looks more attractive. I do feel a vertical would suit the mage better though, but with a bit more space to the left. :toast:

Hi Jorne,

I'm SHOCKED that you survived this encounter! Do you have life insurance? If so, who is the beneficiary? I know a (normally) friendly Canuck who might volunteer!

I like the colour (esp. of the eye) and the detail in the immediate vicinity of the eye. I'm with you on the vertical crop here, but do think the image would be improved by a shift to the left here (of the camera) so that there is more room on the left side of the image (and less on the right). I personally think this subject matter (referring here to the eye itself) would support a near centring (horizontally) of the eye, especially given that the lashes will lead away from the midpoint anyway...

Cheers...thanks again for surviving this reckless and dangerous photo assignment...

What incredible lashes this one has. Amazing to get this close even to a captive animal. I like the vertical presentation much better than the horizontal. I like it how it is but if there was the possibilitly of more space on the left I would prefer that.

I like the vertical better, but agree with Marsel that moving the camera slightly left to give space in front of the lashes would have been somewhat stronger.
