Birch on Blue

I took this shot of a small birch stand last winter on a clear "bluebird" day in Northern Vermont. I know this technique is somewhat controversial and not widely appreciated, yet I find I'm drawn repeatedly to this abstract result. Thanks for looking, your C&C's are most appreciated.

I think sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Here it largely does for me, mainly because of the nice depth you have, which makes it more accessible as a 'real subject' despite the abstract qualities. I dont particularly get a sense of the blue skies, but ill take your word for it!

Glad to see a lovely abstract among the gallery images. I so love abstractions in nature. You really have an abundance of emotion here. I am drawn in so deeply. The only suggestion is trying to set the foreground more off center. An angle change may have created some leading lines to the backgound making it an even more powerful image.
